Steve Pierce

imageSteve Pierce is the executive director of Media Alliance and coordinates the teleproduction facility at The Sanctuary for Independent Media in Troy, NY. He has deep experience in the business side of media, having worked as executive director of the Deep Dish TV Satellite Network, operations manager for WBAI-FM in NYC and program director of WWOZ-FM in New Orleans. As a freelance audio producer, Steve worked for National Public Radio, Pacifica Radio, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, the Mutual Radio Network and others. Steve's work for radio, television and the web includes nationally distributed series such as "Free Jazz From The Sanctuary," "Behind Censorship: The Assault on Civil Liberties," "The Gulf Crisis TV Project," "Jazztown" and numerous news and feature segments. Steve holds an MS and PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he teaches in the Department of Science and Technology Studies.
